Only 10 (or 11 for the adult races) more sleeps to
the 2009 Cornwall Hospital Triathlon.
Registration has been exceeding expectations with
record crowds expected both days and at least double
the competitors on Sunday August 23rd for the Adult
events. Look at the great (really) long
term forecast.

Kid's
Day Information
The Kid's Tri takes place at the Cornwall Aquatic
Centre. The Cornwall Civic Complex/Aquatic
Centre has ample
parking for the event. The east parking lot
and the east lane exiting the Civic Complex will be
closed during the triathlon. Please exit using
the west entrance/exit of the complex closest to Lamoureux Park.

The Cornwall Hospital Triathlon has hooked up with
the Eastern Ontario Health Unit to keep the kiddies
entertained throughout the triathlon day while they
are waiting for their event to start or after their
event finish. The Eastern Ontario
Health Unit will have a bouncy obstacle course set
up close to the Curling Club.

Day Information
The following is a listing of the prizes that are
available to the top finishers in each event.
Top 3 in each age group will be called to receive a placement indicator add-on for the
back of their medal. All finishers get a medal. Top finishing prizes are:

Parking for the Adult race on Sunday August 23rd
will be in the St. Lawrence College Parking lot.
St. Lawrence College is located at the end of
Belmont street south of Montreal Road. Once on
the college grounds proceed to the East parking lot.
From here you can walk your bike across the foot
bridge to the rear of L'Heritage High School - the
site of the 2009 Cornwall Hospital Triathlon.

If you plan a bike warm-up before the race please head east along Montreal Road from
transition. Make sure you are aware of other
athletes who may be arriving at the race site by
foot.

The supplies are in. Infinit Nutrition sport
drink, water, gummy bears and Carb-Boom gels will be
served at the stations. It may be overkill but
we will have an aid station as you exit the swim, at
the start of the run and accessible at every km during your
run.

Olivier Mouyau will be bringing his travelling
road show (and racing too) to Cornwall for your
perusal. New products will be on display from
Kiwami triathlon wear, Aquaman wetsuits and Sonic
Race Wheels. Olivier will have Aquaman
wetsuits available to rent for $40 and race wheels
can be had for the weekend for $100.

You gave it your all and you are sore after the
race. What to do? The Cornwall Hospital
Triathlon will have a Physiotherapist, A.R.T.
certified chiropractor and two massage therapists to
work out the kinks. Ice cold bottled water, Infinit Recovery
drink,
Slushies and Assorted Salads available after you finish your
race. Pizza Hut will be delivering pizzas at awards time.

To alleviate some of the clutter in transition a
bag check area will be setup in the south-west
corner of transition. Your bag will be tagged
with your race number. Keep transition clean
with only your necessary items. Remember to
bring a towel to shower after the race, showers are
available to use in the high school.

We still need some volunteers for Sunday August
23rd. We currently have 130 volunteers set up
for the event. All we are in need of is a few
more to fill in our wetsuit stripping station and
absences on race morning. If you cannot race this year or your
support crew would like to help us out please send

The Cornwall Hospital Triathlon will allow race
transfers between individuals for a fee of $15.
The latest date for a race transfer is Tuesday August
18th. Race transfers can be done within the
same race only. Email the
racedirector@cornwalltriathlon.com for more
information.

In town early? Kids racing on Saturday?
There will be a advance packet pick-up and
registration table set-up at the kid's event on
Saturday August 22nd from 8am-11am. Bypass the
congestion on race morning and get your kit early.
